Attraction in Tower Street

This medieval York castle has a fascinating and somwhat macabre past. Named after Roger de Clifford, who was executed there, the tower has played a central part in York history since the middle ages.

The monument is open daily to visitors who can enjoy fabulous panoramic views of York from the ramparts. Also nearby is York Castle Museum.
